Parks & Recreation

The Clarkson City Park
Located just off of Highway 62 on the eastern side of town, the Clarkson City Park offers numerous recreational opportunities and activities for the people of our area. A one mile blacktopped walking track spans the length of the park. Located inside the track are four baseball/softball fields, two pavilions, and the Grayson County Youth Soccer field. The park also hosts several picnic areas and the Mike Marshall Playground for the enjoyment of the children in our community. The one-mile scenic Ed Nichols Memorial Nature Trail runs along Barton Run Creek on the backside of the park and offers a rustic alternative to the walking track. Whether it is a day of play, exercise, or communing with nature, the Clarkson City Park offers a little something for everyone in our community.

If your business or organization would be interested in purchasing a sign to hang at Clarkson City Park on one of the ball field fences, please complete the form below and return it to Clarkson City Hall. Proceeds go to help support the ball program.

Outdoor Basketball Court
The City of Clarkson’s latest recreational commitment to our community is the construction of a new blacktopped outdoor basketball court along First Street next to Clarkson Elementary School. Intended for youth and adults, the basketball court is regularly used by the community for pick-up games and practices.
